Silly Putty

Mix in a medium bowl:
3/4 cup warm water
1 cup Elmer's glue
2 drops of food coloring

Mix in large bowl:
4 teaspoons borax
1 1/3 cups warm water

Pour the medium bowl into the large bowl, but don't stir! Let sit it for 1 minute, then lift the now congealed putty out of the bowl. divide it up so that each child has his or her own piece of putty to play with.

The glue in silly putty can make it stick to certain fabrics. To minimize accidents, give each child a ziplocked bag to store it in.

Slime

The magic recipe is one part water
(tinted with a few drops of food coloring) to
four parts cornstarch. If you dare, invite the
guests to help you make it. Begin by rolling the
ingredients around in a bucket; you'll find it
easier than stirring the stuff. The slime is ready
when it looks like a liquid but has a thick,
smooth consistency that changes to ooze when
touched.
