Snack Suggestions

Applesauce on pancakes, animal crackers, apricots,
almonds, apple slices with peanut butter or yogurt dip
Breakfast bars, bagels, baked chips with low-fat cheese
or salsa, breads -- whole wheat, banana, zucchini
Cheese (slices, chunks, string), crackers, cottage
cheese with fruit, chex morning mix, carrots with dip, celery (ants
on a log)
Try "satellite snacks": a cheese cube with several pretzel
sticks stuck in it
Dried fruit (raisins, craisins, etc), can mix with
nuts or sunflower seeds
Eggs (hard-boiled, scrambled, sandwich), can decorate
even when it's not Easter

Fruit rolls, fruit slices with dip, fruit leather,
frozen juice bars, frozen bananas
Gogurt, graham crackers, grapes, granola
Hummus (made from pureed chickpeas and sesame seeds)
with veggies, pita triangles or crackers, ham slices, ham and cheese
muffins
Instant cocoa, ice crushed into juice smoothies
Juice, jelly on rice cakes (or good old bread)
Kebabs (with fruit or veggies), kiwi, kosher pickle
spears wrapped in turkey slices
Low-fat chocolate milk (can freeze to make slush too!)
Muffins, multigrain toaster waffles
Nibblers (frozen half ears of corn), noodles (ie,
ragu express, mac and cheese)
Oatmeal cookies, ovaltine, oatmeal (instant packets)
Pizza rolls, popsicles, peanut butter, pears, popcorn,
pretzels, pancakes or waffles with fruit toppings, pitas, peas
Quick soups, quesadillas (with cheese, veggies and/or
meat)

Sweet potato chips, smoothies (use non-fat vanilla
yogurt, orange juice and a banana), sunflower seeds, snack mix
Toast, trail mix, tortillas with cheese, salsa, eggs,
veggies, whatever!

- Mozzarella cheese sticks with baked tortilla chips, a container
of salsa, and orange segments
- Fruit, cheese, and meat kabobs: Alternately thread turkey (or
other low-fat meat), cheese cubes, bell pepper, and pineapple
chunks on Popsicle sticks.
- Yogurt parfait: A 6-8 oz. container of low-fat yogurt, a snack
pack of low-sugar, high-fiber cereal, berries, grapes, apple slices,
and/or banana
- A low-fat tortilla spread with low-fat cream cheese, sprinkled
with shredded carrots and raisins.
- A pita pocket stuffed with lunchtime favorites like tuna, turkey
and/or cheese, and chopped vegetables (or with peanut butter and
jelly).
- Cinnamon-raisin pita bread stuffed with cream cheese and grated
carrots.
- Whole-wheat bread with peanut butter, banana, and chopped dates.
- A hollowed-out red or green pepper stuffed with tuna salad.
- A hollowed apple filled with a mixture of farmer cheese, granola,
and raisins
- Scooped-out dinner rolls filled with tuna or egg salad.
