Cal Eco 24 Hour Adventure Race up near San Jose, CA - March 2
Start in the kayaks at 6am on Sat. Paddle for 13 miles.
Took us about 4 hours. Just a couple of blisters on my thumbs.
Transition to the 26 mile hike. Up, down, over mountains, valleys, and a small part through the lake..a very cold swim in 45 degree water. Took us about 7 hours. Ouch! Lots of blisters on my feet. Around 6:30pm, transition to the 30 mile mountain bike ride. Up, down, and pushing the bikes up the very steep hills all in the dark. Last 2 hours I thought I was gonna toss my cookies! Sunday, 1:50am - All four of us so very happily crossed the finish line together! Team Fred finished the race in 19 hours and 50 minutes! 20th place out of 34 teams. (only 10 hours behind the winners! :)
It was incredible!! Can't wait for the next race!
