CABBAGE SALAD WITH TOP RAMEN                 Phyllis Ross

    Salad from Luau.  The only differences are starred on the right*

Dressing make ahead:

½ cup oil

¼ cup vinegar

¼ cup sugar*                                                     *2 Tbsp sugar

½ teaspoon salt

Flavor pkg. from Top Ramen*                        *3 flavor pkgs.

Shake together and refrigerate

 

Salad:

1 pkg. Top Ramen noodles*                            *3 pkg.

1 head cabbage, chopped or shredded

1 bunch green onions, chopped*                   

*½ cup green peppers and/or celery

*1 bag of frozen peas

½ cup toasted sesame seeds

¾ cup toasted slivered almonds (or cashews, not toasted)

 

Break up the noodles and slightly toast under the broiler (toasting is optional)

Add  remaining ingredients to the noodles and toss well.  Just before serving, add dressing and toss again.
