PUMPKIN BREAD         Bonnie Norman

(3 Large Loaves)

 

5 cups sifted flour

3 ½ cups sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon cloves

1 teaspoon allspice

1 teaspoon soda

1 cup salad oil

3 cups pumpkin (large can. Small can makes ½ recipe)

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup raisins (or craisins)

1 cup nuts

1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

3 eggs

 

Mix altogether, put in well-oiled loaf tins.

Bake at 350º for 55 minutes.  For small tins, bake 35 to 40 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.

 

(I didn’t have any allspice so I used ½ teaspoon of ginger instead.)

 

Frost with Cream Cheese frosting
