1 German Chocolate. Cake Mix

1 cup coconut.

1 cup  chopped pecans

 1 8oz. pkg. cream cheese

½ C. butter

1 tsp. vanilla

1 # pkg. powered sugar          (a second recipe calls for 2 cups)      

 

Make cake mix using directions on package.   Mix together coconut/pecans and put in bottom of 9x13 cake pan.   Pour prepared cake mix on top.

Mix together the cream cheese, butter, vanilla and powered sugar                            

Drop by spoonfuls on cake.  Mounds will almost cover cake.

 

Bake 40 to 50 minutes at 350 degrees.

Serve with ice-cream

 

(The cake bakes nicely, but the cream cheese mixture dollops will sink down into the cake as it cools.  So by turning it over and dusting it with powdered sugar, you will have a nice finished look to the dessert.)
