1 cup shortening
½ cup real
butter (1 cube) softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
5 cups flour
2 tsp baking
powder
2 tsp salt
Cream the shortening,
butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla well. Mix
dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. Blend well.
Heat
oven to 375 degrees. Roll dough out and cut. (Don’t roll dough too
thin!). Bake 6-8 minutes, just until edges are slightly brown. (Do not over
bake - this is the secret!) Cool, and
frost.

Milk
Mix all but the
milk together then add enough milk to make a spreading consistency. Tint with food coloring.
