White Cake Carol Orr
Buttermilk
½ cup shortening, margarine
or butter
2 cups sugar
Two large whole eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 ½ cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
1 1/3 cups buttermilk or sour
milk alt
Cream the butter and
sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix
well. Combine the dry ingredients then
add to the sugar mixture. Alternately
add the dry ingredients and buttermilk.
Put into 2 greased and floured nine inch
layer pans, or a 9 X 13 pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
